Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) 8 Week Programme.

The course includes:

  • 2.5 hours once a week for 8 weeks
  • Daily practice on all non class days during the course
  • One experiential all-day workshop during the course
  • Course Handbook and 2 CDs

Course Fee - €360 which includes 2 CDs, Course Handbook, eight classes and one full day of Mindfulness practice.

The Mindful Child Workshop

The Mindful Child Workshop - this workshop is for teachers, parents, grandparents or anyone who would like to learn easy and simple Mindfulness techniques to use with children.

The day is being run by Bridie O'Grady and Anne Twohig-Wall and will introduce Mindfulness as a technique and life-skill for all of us to use and will demonstrate the practices we can use with children. These practices will focus on body awareness, using the breath as a calming tool, listening and concentration skills and how mindfulness can foster and develop empathy and self compassion.

Date: Saturday 21st April 2012.
Cost: 80 Euro including handout

MBSR Renewal Day

A renewal day for those who have completed the 8 week MBSR and would like an opportunity to support and renew their practice.

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Schools Programme

A Programme for Transition Year Students

Venue: In the school setting
Dates: Arranged on request
Time: An introductory session & a 3 hour session one day a week for four weeks. A personal daily mindfulness meditation practice of 20 minutes will be requested of each student
Each student will receive an educational CD in mindfulness meditation relaxation techniques, breathing and body movement exercises to support their daily practice

The Aims of the Programme

  • To provide young adults with an adapted version of the eight week adult MBSR Programme
  • To support the development of a daily mindfulness meditation practice
  • To give TY students an understanding of what gives rise to stress and anxiety
  • To introduce a proven method used to develop self-esteem
  • To show how using the MBSR programme provides the tools for mastering life’s challenges

The Benefits include:

  • Valuable life skills for developing emotional and mental well-being
  • Improved observation, listening and communication skills
  • A healthy sense of confidence and greater calmness
  • A valuable tool to help young people reach their full potential
  • Awareness of the sources of stress

Mindful Living for Exam Students

An opportunity for exam students to experience Mindful Living and Deep Relaxation in the school setting.  Students will be introduced to breathing techniques, relaxation exercises and short meditations to allow them experience stillness, calmness and present moment awareness.

This will give an understanding of the benefits of mindfulness and the support it can be in the run up to and during exams.

Breathing techniques, relaxation exercises and meditations available on CD for further use and support.

Mindfulness for Self Care for Teachers

Mindfulness programmes designed to support self care for Teachers.

These programmes are designed to introduce teachers to the techniques and benefits of mindfulness and to explore ways of incorporating this into their work place in order to create a calmer work environment for both students and teachers.
