About Ananda

Ananda Programmes was founded in 2005 by Anne Twohig and offers courses and programmes in Mindful Living in Bray, Dublin and County Wicklow. Anne has been actively interested in holistic wellbeing for over 25 years. She trained and worked with energetic massage, energy healing, CranioSacral, Deep Relaxation Therapy and Hakomi. Anne’s main work now is in Mindfulness Meditation. She trained in the MBSR Programme in America under the direction of Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn and completed the Teacher Development Intensive Training at the Center for Mindfulness (Mass.). She has an in-depth understanding of the importance of emotional wellbeing and the impact this has on our physical and mental health.

Anne facilitates courses and workshops for individuals, groups, secondary schools students, teachers, corporate business and the public sector in Ireland. Through her work in schools Anne has gained considerable understanding of the pressures in this area for both students and teachers. Her grand design is to have the practice of Mindfulness as part of the education system in Ireland so that children and young adults can have the opportunity to learn a life skill that will support them from as early an age as possible to throughout their entire life.

A Message from Anne

Welcome to Ananda Programmes and thank you for visiting us.  Having arrived at a time and place in my life where I can view what is really important with greater understanding and wisdom, I have a vision - my vision is to introduce what I know to be a wonderful support  and gift to as many people as possible.  Living with a high level of self-awareness is one of the greatest gifts you can offer yourself and those you share your life with.

This gift is my foundation and anchor.  It has been my lifeline in times of major life changing decisions, it guided, strengthened and comforted me.  It is now a source of nourishment that gives flight to my passion for life, my delight in being and my gratitude for all my experiences knowing that each one, however painful, contains a special gift.

I am having a life filled with many very interesting experiences.  The main reason I am finding my life so interesting is that I am living it with awareness.  I am awake to what is happening.  I am not missing the live show that cannot be repeated.  I am an active and a live participant in the experiences of my own life.  Can you say the same of your life experiences?  I truly hope so.

I work with adult individuals and groups and also young adults. It is always a great source of joy for me to witness the transformation that comes about when there is a realisation that life is really quite simple and that it is ourselves who so often complicate it rather than the other way around.

We are all born with an abundance of inner joy but very often on the journey of life we lose touch with this, disconnect from this joy.  Through stillness, being in the present moment and self awareness, we reconnect with our ability to feel, to sense, to know that we can have all that we deserve and we can access it ourselves.  We don't have to wait for anyone else to provide it for us, we already have it.

And so I invite you to allow yourself the joy of being, allow yourself include all that you deserve in your life, allow yourself to live your life fully, embracing with openness and awareness the life you are living.

With blessings, Anne Twohig
